How it works

A small ritual,
in four steps.

The mechanics are simple. The intention is what matters: turning a private feeling of gratitude into a tangible, shareable gesture.

  1. 01

    Subscribe to a Joie

For each Joie you wish to issue, you contribute one euro to our reserve fund. The fund is permanent — your contribution stays there and quietly funds the system.

  2. 02

Issue a Joie in someone's name

You choose an effigy — the face of a person you wish to honor: a loved one passed away, a public figure, a quiet hero. The Joie carries their name into the world.

  3. 03

Give it, with a few words

You send the Joie to another person — a friend, a colleague, a stranger you wish to thank — together with a short message. It enters their porteJoie.

  4. 04

    Receive, accept, pass it along

The recipient sees the Joie waiting for them. They can keep it, or send it onward to someone they wish to recognize in turn. The chain continues.

What is a Joie?

A small object with a big idea.

A Joie is a virtual medal: a token in someone's likeness, identified by a unique number, sealed with a personal message. It lives in your porteJoie — your personal wallet — until you decide to send it onward.

It cannot be sold. It cannot be traded for goods. Its only purpose is to be given — to recognize, to thank, to remember.

What makes this different

Less reward, more recognition.

Most digital tokens reward behaviour or measure performance. Joies do neither. They mark a moment of gratitude — quietly, deliberately, and outside any commercial system. The funds collected stay reserved; no one profits from the gesture.

It is not a market. It is a ritual.

You have understood the ritual.
